I am Steven Schwartz from central Alberta, Canada (our little city of 100,000 is called Red Deer). I have been involved in full time ministry for over 10 years with the last 4 years leading our creative ministry at Home Church. As well as Stephanie (my wife) and I run a wedding photography and design company serving our region.

We just recently (Sept 2020) added our third and final instalment to our family. With that I actually transitioned off staff at the church and have begun to offer design & consulting for local churches in Canada. You can see more at imago.media

Design + CREATIVITY

Over the last 4 years I have acted as the creative director for Home Church & Ministries. My responsibilities have included overseeing a staff & volunteer team of more than 20 people, developing & creating all of our online content and design, and most recently creating our online campus & livestream service.

During this time, I've also had the opportunity to work on some visual identity branding projects, branding photos, and social media collateral for some businesses in our community.

I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite specifically: Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Indesign.

Intermediate with Concrete5, Squarespace, Showit, and Wordpress Blog (and anxious to learn more!)

COMMUNICATION

After years of preaching, officiating weddings and funerals, hosting small groups, and wrangling rowdy wedding parties... I have come to realize how important succinct communication is! (Not to mention being married for 13 years)

Experience in scripting, copywriting, and developing social media content has given me plenty of opportunity to define and simplify complex details into a palatable message!

I believe this makes me a great candidate for a remote position as well as a great team member!

CURIOSITY

One of the markers of my life is curiosity. I am always learning, always trying to figure out how things work, podcasting, reading, discussing, and trying new things.

For example: During the COVID-19 Pandemic, 75% of our weddings postponed giving us much more free time than any of our last 4 summers. So I decided I was going to plant a garden. I built the garden box, I researched the best soil, and found the appropriate seedlings for our climate. Now, we have more lettuce than we know what to do with.

This same curiosity has hit me with cooking, baking, renovations... and most deeply creative work. I am a life long learner!

SERVICE

I believe in a life of service. Service to my community, my team, my family, our clients, and ultimately, Christ. I think if you commit to excellent work and approach it with a servant heart, you will find success.

I am an enneagram 6W3. A loyalist and achiever. When I find someone I can trust, I am loyal to a fault and will GET. STUFF. DONE!
